New Chapter

I want to go more in depth about the fact that I have moved. For those of you that have just tuned in and don't feel like reading my old posts I used to live in Bogota, Colombia but now I live in Lisbon, Portugal. It's been pretty cool but this move could have gone much more smoothly.

First of all I had no idea it would be this hard to try and fit in. Honestly I thought that people would want to talk to me but no one really did and on top of that I had just gotten into this new thing called IB. I didn't know anything about it except the fact that it was advanced. So I came home that day scared shitless and cried for hours. I thought my life was over. Of course my sister who didn't want to move here at all had already made a bunch of friends. I only knew this one guy and a girl in my sister's grade. It was my first day and I already had to write a two page essay on the Russian Revolution, start reading the Odessey and preparing for an oral quiz (I am terrible at public speaking).

There was one thing I was wrong about when I came home from school that day. I thought I wasn't going to make any friends and eat in the lunchroom alone for the rest of my highschool life but I met this one girl, Gavrielle. At first I didn't thing she was gonna be like a really good friend but now we have a bunch of inside jokes and I know I can trust her.

Now my friends issue is fixed and the third week of school or so I switched out of IB. Personally I think it really sucks compared to AP.

I have met so many awesome people here and so far I've been to some really cool places. I mean just last week I went to Spain and I did something I normally don't do...community service. I went to Habitat for Humanity, I got really sick and I just stayed in the hotel every night watching TV while everyone else was out eating. But it was cool and I got to miss some school.

So for everyone that moved this year and had to make a bunch of new friends and felt like their lives were over, I know how you feel. I mean I've never felt this way before so pessimistic about moving. Usually I make friends easily and I'm the first one to make friends out of my brothers and sister but this time I was last. I guess the older you get the harder it gets. If you still don't have friends, don't worry, there's usually other new kids and if your in a big school you probably haven't met all the people if your in a small school give the people a chance.

They might surprise you.

It's Been Awile

Yes it really has. Exactly a year. So anyways. Some of the things that have happened to me:

1. I went to Disney for Christmas! I loved it and it was freezing in Orlando this year, I had to layer so many clothes they didn't even match. I rode the Tower of Terror like 5 times :) Churros and Ice Cream. The Rockin' Roller Coaster seemed like it got a lot crappier since the last time I rode it (3rd or 4th grade).

2. I've missed blogging.

3. This summer I moved to Europe. It's as amazing as I remember it. But then again anything is amazing after Colombia (eh, I guess I should say no offence but honestly they were the worst three years of my life).

4. I don't have to blog for homework anymore (YESSS!)

5. I miss my friends more than anything.

6. This summer I went to Virginia and D.C. I hadn't been there for such a long time. I loved it. Kind of like visiting your childhood again. I spent a lot of time with Kendevil and her sisters. I wonder if she's still writing...

7. I also visited New York for a couple of days. I could've sworn I saw one of my teachers and freaked out. I saw that girl from The Secret Life of The American Teenager. The one that was preggers first. I also got my picture up on the Jumbotron thing in Times Square. Once in a lifetime.

8. I've been learning how to surf. I'm gonna pick it up again after winter.

9. I saw Obama. Amazing! He's so chilled!

10. I've met some cool new people and made some new friends. No new enemies which is definitely good.

That's only a brief overview of what's happened. There's a lot more and I really wish I had been writing this summer especially becuase I didn't have a lot to do in D.C. So right now I'm gonna read my old posts and see what I've talked about already. If anyone is still following this. Thanks :)
